WEBCC, an ICANN accredited Registrar,
has inked an agreement with Hong Kong
Domain Name Registration Company Limited
(HKDNR), a wholly owned subsidiary of
Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation
Limited (HKIRC) enabling it to fully
develop and implement customized registry
solutions for HKDNR.
The company says that the Registry
infrastructure development will enable
HKDNR to introduce new services and
features to .hk domain name customers.
It will also empower HKDNR to multiply
its volume of domain names while maintaining
the highest standard of service reliability
by adopting Extensible Provisioning
Protocol (EPP).
According to the company, the Shared
Registry-Registrar model is an essential
step for country-code Top Level Domain
(ccTLD) Registries to face the global
competition and rapid development
of the Internet. The Shared Registry-Registrar
system, based on WEBCC's RegistryASP
SRS suite provides Registries a set
of process automation tools and management
applications enabling them to manage
and maintain Registrar connections
to the Registry. The suite also facilitates
registries with an end-to-end solution
to fully integrate and automate domain
name registration, resolution and
management services.
"We see strong potential in
this area especially among Asian country-code
top level domain registries as they
deploy similar system to their business
operations. RegistryASP would empower
HKDNR to further streamline and improve
domain names registration process
and connect to more overseas registrars,
thereby extending HKDNR reach to many
potential overseas customers,"
said TK Tan, CEO of WEBCC.
